Hey Family,

How is everything going at home? Sounds like the weather is changing and starting to be actually winter there now. Thats good, things here are good this last week went pretty well, we were able to find a couple people hopefully this next couple weeks they can progress and everything. We have a couple people this week that we are hoping can get baptised. If everything goes well we should be able to baptize one of the sons of the big family that we baptised last week who went with his grandma for a while so he wasnt there to be taught when we taught the rest of his family but he is cool his name is Angel and hopefully he can keep progressing like he is and get baptised this week that would be cool then we also have two sister Marlen and Diana who are both progressing as well and should be able to get baptised this week or the next so hopefully everything goes well this week and we can get them all baptised. Things are going well with Elder Rodriguez and I and to answer some of dads questions or more inquires he is from the state of Mexico just out side of Mexico City so pretty close to his house he has been a member for pretty much all his life and he has just a little more time in the mission than I do so that is cool. I think we are working well together, hopefully we can continue and find more people to teach this week. Acapulco is a bigger city so there are a few more things from home but I am kind of in the opposite side of the city from all the tourist stuff, and there isnt nearly as much tourism here as before if has just kind of stopped but it is still a big city compared to Iguala. It is still hot here but not as much as Iguala and it is mostly hot walking up and down all the hills we have in our area that is the hard part and here you sweat a lot more than in Iguala because of the humidity, but it is way nice to get a breeze some times that you can feel so that is nice. Today we went to another beach a little out of the city which was cool it is a peninsula and in the lagoon on the one side they have people wakeboarding so that was kind of fun to see again. Today I will send some pictures first is me on our roof at our house in front of the city then second the baptism of the big family and then a couple of the beach and last one of me drinking the water from a coconut.
Hope that everyone has a good week.

Hey Family.

How is everything going at home hope everyone had a good time with Christmas time and now New Years. Sounds like I didnt miss too much of the family stuff this year thats too bad that they didnt do too much this year. Well everything here is good, I haven't left the heat so I am still in the heat just a little different type of heat here. I would say that it is probably just as hot here as it was in Iguala the thing that is hard is that Acapulco is all hills and not just small ones but big hills so that is going to be a little different after Iguala and it being all flat. The area seems really cool it is not really by the coast but it is up in the hills more so we get to look out over all the city so it is cool, my first night here my companion and I went up on our roof and looked out over everything so that was cool seeing all the lights then the ocean as well. My companion is Elder Rodriguez, he is from the state of Mexico just above Mexico City so he is pretty close to his house, that would be kind of hard I think. He is really cool I think things will go well for us we had a really good week this week. I got here and they have been teaching quite a few people that should be able to get baptised in the next couple weeks including a family of like 6 or 7 who have a baptismal date for the 14 so hopefully they can keep progressing at get baptised next week. Then this last week we also visited quite a few members to get to know them and then also to share a message with them about the New Year and putting goals so they had something to work for and that went pretty well hopefully that will help us with getting some more references. There is one thing about our area that is kind of tough is that our ward is divided into two parts with us and then sister missionaries and so most of the members live in the area of the sisters so that is kind of hard but oh well it still seems like it will be a good area. Hopefully this week we have another good week this next week. So that is about it for this last week, today we just went and played volleyball at the church so that was pretty fun but it was really hot so that wasnt much fun but oh well. Well I hope that everyone has a good week at home and this week goes well for everyone.

hey Family,

How is everything going at home? Hope that all is well and getting back to regular activities after Christmas. Things here are going well I have a little less time this week since my companion has to go to a meeting as District Leader with the Zone Leaders before the District meeting so We have to go earlier than usual. But this last week was kind of slow compared to my first week here in Acapulco. We lost some time this last week since Elder Rodriguez had to go to the Dentist to get something done and so that took time to go get that done then after he didnt too good so that slowed us down a little so hopefully we can get back to how we worked my first week. But one exciting this is that our big family we are teaching was able to go to Church yesterday and now they should be getting baptised this Saturday so that will be fun so we should be able to have a week where all 6 get baptised if all goes well. This week we are also working on finding more investigators as well since this last week we dropped quite a few since they werent wanting to fulfill their commitments so that is leaving us more time this week to find new investigators. I will answer some of the questions that dad asked now. Things here are going well it is still hot like in Iguala but walking up and down the hills is a lot harder than in Iguala where it was all flat and then the ward is not too big but not really small either I would say about the same size of my first ward but smaller than in Iguala. There are actually two stakes here in Acapulco. So that church is doing pretty well here. Today was also kind of fun we went to the Beach and played volleyball there so that was cool, to see the ocean and the lagoon here and then also to see all the big hotels down the beach aways so that was cool. Hopefully we can get to see some more of the city as the weeks pass. I wanted to send pictures today but we dont have time so I will try and send some next week. Oh yeah dad I can see your pictures that you send me from your phone and I have been able to see the video of addie dancing but that is it I dont think you sent me any others have you? Well I think that is about it for this week Have fun in St. George if you go down there and then Happy Birthday Jonathan this week. Hope everyone has a good week this week.

Elder Bird is in Acapulco, Mexico.
Everyone has heard of Acapulco, and I never dreamed that my son would be serving there on his mission. Here is the map showing where in the world he is teaching the gospel to the people of Mexico.
